We are now back home in Singapore after 10 days holiday in Mauritius.

There is much to write about the resort... but here I will just give you details of our first day there. Other postings on my blog will cover the entertainment in the evening and the resort lit.
When we first arrived it was quite cool - only 21 deg - then we had a few days of cold rain and wind, so would suggest anyone visiting Mauritius to go in November .... this is what the locals have told us as well. All were walking around with jackets on and saying how cold it was!
The Resort was very comfortable, it is not 5 star, but all basic needs are accommodated for.... we had a standard room which was clean and comfortable and had a balcony looking towards the bay area.
the view above is from the lobby looking towards the front entrance and below is the driveway...
and the following are a few views around the pool and external area's of the resort.....
we did have a laugh when we saw the guests up by 6.30am laying claim to "their" sunbed by placing their bag and towels on them and then heading into breakfast!
A bit like lining up for the Social Rotisserie Set!
The Wellness Centre at the Resort is wonderful, certainly a must visit while there ..... there is also a gym, tennis court etc but John and I managed to stay around the massage area as that was just heaven!
Mauritius is a lovely island to visit, but perhaps check on the expected weather at the time of year you maybe planning to visit. We are told by the locals that August has been getting much colder over the past 6 years and that November is a good time to visit. January and February bring the cyclones so perhaps it would be wise not to visit at that time!
Will post more about the resort and what we did while in Mauritius over the next couple of weeks.
(stay tuned!!)
I do agree..Mauritius is really like no other..it is just so amazing..I had stayed at intercontinental mauritius and it's also lovely there..
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment and reading my blog..... we enjoyed parts of our visit to Mauritius, mainly because it was john's first trip back after leaving his homeland in 1966.
ReplyDeleteBut we also found it incredibly expensive!!
We know we will never return to Mauritius again, but it was worth visiting once.
