accommodation in Berlin - at the Hotel Adlon

Hotel Adlon is a hotel on Unter den Linden, the main boulevard in the Berlin city centre, directly opposite the Brandenburg Gate.

On the way to the Brandenburger Tor the other day, I passed by this old hotel. Took a few images as it looked rather 'pretty' and then once back at the hotel I uploaded them, but decided they were not worth inflicting upon my viewers.

But I read a little more on this hotel and apart from it costing 15,000.00 Euro's per night in the luxury suite it was also one of the most famous hotels in Europe between the two World Wars and hosted celebrities including Louise Brooks, Charlie Chaplin, Herbert Hoover, Josephine Baker and Marlene Dietrich. It was also a favorite hangout of journalists, located in the heart of the government quarter next to the British Embassy, on the same square as the French and American Embassies and only blocks from the Chancellery and other government ministries.

So yes, am inflicting just three images of this hotel on you my dear readers, so that you will know where to stay on your next visit to Berlin!

It is worth reading the information that wikipedia supplies HERE
