Le Méridien Hotel - Kota Kinabalu.

We have heard so much about the Kota Kinabalu area in Borneo, that we decided to go see for ourselves. We flew via AirAsia last Thursday (Sept 15) leaving Changi Airport at 5.30pm.

We had booked to stay at Le Meridien in the town centre and we were not disappointed. As it is part of the Starwood Chain we also took the upgrade to include a deluxe room and the Club Lounge. Again, it was well worth the extra expense. The staff were very helpful, from the front door staff, through to the reception (thanks Mark!) to the restaurant, the Club Lounge and to housekeeping. Everyone we dealt with was pleasant and helpful at all times.
With its stunning city-centre location overlooking the South China Sea and spectacular sunsets, Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu lies within walking distance of many great shopping, dining and entertainment facilities.

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in the central part of Kota Kinabalu.

We enjoyed the view from our room on the 12th level:

and the Club Lounge is an ideal place to unwind while watching breathtaking sunsets:
there will be many blog posts coming up on Kota Kinabalu.

so stay tuned!!
