Sunrise over Angkor Wat ........

Watching the sunrise over Angkor Wat is a virtual pre-requisite of any visit to Siem Reap and the Angkor temple complex nearby.

We set the alarm for 4.00am and our driver and guide were there waiting at the entrance to the hotel at 4.45am to take us to Angkor Wat.

The streets were already alive with people despite the early hour and the darkness, although their shapes were only a blur.

Many people make the pilgrimage to Angkor Wat to see the sunrise..... each morning would be very different to the next. Sometimes it would be stormy, cloudy, raining and virtually impossible to see anything ........ we were very lucky and had good weather for the four days of our visit.

We were there for over an hour and I took many images all at various times and from different areas.

These are just a sample taken with my 'P + S' Panasonic.

Cambodia is a wonderful country to visit ...... but do read up on it before going, of what you are going to see, where you want to go and what you expect.

You will benefit from the trip far more if you do so.

We are anxious to return now with far greater knowledge.

I have been following you blogs intently. I just moved to Singapore and plan to go around and hence your blog is pretty useful. BTW, if you don't mind, can you let us know how much it cost you for the Cambodia trip? As you can understand, the cost factor is important in planning your travels.

Cost of traveling to Siem Reap will depend on many factors. Airline / star rating of the chosen hotel / number in party / if you want a guide and a driver etc.

We booked for four days / 3 nights with Jacinta tan at TRAVEL TRAVEL at Plaza Singapura (6th level) and they helped us organise everything. We usually book our holidays thru them.
